<p>I mean no disrespect to the American broadcasters but I think Fifa should have done a better job vetting the <a href="https://iol.co.za/fifa-world-cup-2026/updates/2026-06-24-4-ways-bafana-can-secure-a-place-in-the-fifa-world-cup-knockout-stages/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>commentators before allowing</strong> </a>them to call games. They are seated next to experienced European football analysts, former players and journalists but there is a<a href="https://iol.co.za/capeargus/sport/2026-06-24-bafana-bafanas-world-cup-hopes-hinge-on-final-group-match-against-south-korea/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong> huge distance between the two</strong></a> in terms of understanding the game.</p>
<p>Commentary during a football broadcast is a special effect for the audience at home. Naturally, there is supposed to be a conversation between these two voices, leading the audience along as the game progresses.</p>
