DA by-election ward candidate shot dead in Du Noon

A Democratic Alliance (DA) ward by-election candidate has been gunned down in Du Noon, Cape Town.

The DA mourns the loss of Sinovuyo Dyokwe.

One of our own, she was a dedicated activist and DA candidate in Dunoon who worked tirelessly to serve her community.

Sinovuyo Dyokwe was shot and killed en-route home from the voter registration venue.

This after she worked to register or re-register DA voters during day one of registration weekend.

Constituency Head Nicholas Gotsell says they’re engaging with the South African Police Service (SAPS) to ascertain the facts. He says they will be monitoring the situation closely.

” The DA is shocked and saddened by the senseless killing of our Du Noon activist branch chairperson and recent by election candidate Sinovuyo Dyokwe . Sinovuyo was a bubbly, very energetic person, who lived for the DA and its values. She will be sincerely and sorely missed.”
