Facebook suspends March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma’s account
March and March says Facebook suspended Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma’s account over an alleged violation of the platform’s adult sexual solicitation rules. The movement has warned supporters against fake accounts and questioned the timing of the suspension.

March and March Movement has accused the government’s ruling elites of being unhappy following the 2026 local government election results, after Facebook suspended the account of its leader, Jacinta Zinhle Ngobese-Zuma.
"The government ruling elites are currently not in a jovial mood and probably view the movement as a primary reason and source for their loss," the organisation said in a statement.
The movement spokesperson Sandile Dube confirmed that Ngobese-Zuma’s Facebook page had been suspended and said she would continue communicating with South Africans through the organisation’s official Facebook page, IOL reported.
Dube also warned supporters that Ngobese-Zuma had not created any alternative Facebook accounts, saying any other pages bearing her name were not hers and had not been authorised by her.
“Any other page will not be from her for now until communicated otherwise,” the statement said.
The suspension took effect on November 6, with Facebook citing an alleged violation of its Community Standards relating to adult sexual solicitation.
Ngobese-Zuma was given 180 days to appeal the decision before her account could be permanently disabled.
Facebook’s suspension notification cited an alleged breach of its adult sexual solicitation rules. The platform has not publicly provided any additional explanation beyond the reason stated in the notification.

March and March said the suspension did not come as a surprise, linking it to what it described as devastating local government election outcomes for the former ruling party.
The movement claimed the government’s ruling elites were unhappy with the results and viewed the organisation as a primary reason for the electoral losses.
It attributed this alleged resentment to its uncompromising stance on migration, economic challenges, unemployment and gender-based violence and femicide.
However, the movement did not provide evidence that the government or any political party was responsible for Facebook’s decision.
The organisation said it would continue with peaceful marches and litigation through the SA First Forum, aimed at pressuring the state to prioritise South Africans.
It reiterated its demand for the mass deportation of undocumented foreign nationals, claiming their number exceeded 15 million, and called for the documentation of an estimated 4.4 million undocumented South Africans.
