Fernandes left out - Man Utd hammered, Bournemouth brilliant - how they rated

Man Utd
Man Utd XI:
Senne Lammens: Another of those games where everything is looking solid - until it isn't. Massive error for Bournemouth's third goal. 4
Leny Yoro: Vital clearance to deny Evanilson a tap-in. Had situation under control but then slipped to gift Bournemouth their second. 5
Harry Maguire: Regained the captain's armband taken off him by Erik ten Hag. Blocked early Rayan chance and surged forward to try and create at the other end. 6
Ayden Heaven (off 64, Martinez): Some good moments and lots of promise but plenty being asked of the 20-year-old. Yellow card for jumping into a tackle Evanilson jumped out of the way of. Proved to be costly with the resulting free-kick leading to Bournemouth's opener. 5
Diogo Dalot: Got forward well but shooting erratic and pass straight to Evanilson inside own half didn't inspire confidence. Tried to rouse his team but didn't have a lot of success. 5
Carlos Baleba (off, 72, Zirkzee): Not scared to take a risk despite the pressure his team are playing under. Does give United drive in central areas. 5
Andrey Santos: Tielemans' poor control forced him into a rash tackle on Truffert that brought a yellow card. Not much of an impact. 4
Amad Diallo (off 78, Amad): Beautiful bit of skill took him past Truffert but seen too infrequently and passing not accurate enough. 4
Youri Tielemans (off 46, Cunha): Not secure enough in possession for the job Carrick wanted from him. Big disappointment. Off at half-time. 4
Mason Mount: Alternated positions with Tielemans and tried to get on the ball. Thought he was crossing for a team-mate and annoyed when no-one moved for it. 5
Bryan Mbeumo: Hardly in the game until released for shot late in first-half. Had another effort in second half. 6
Subs:
Matheus Cunha (on 46, Tielemans): Introduced at half-time and did manage a curling effort from edge of the area, which was off target. 6
Lisandro Martinez (on 64, Heaven): Nearly gave away a third goal, and nearly scored one at the other end. 6
Joshua Zirkzee (on 72, Baleba): Not even a consolation goal today. 5
Shea Lacey (on 78, Amad): 5
Subs not used: Darlow, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Fernandes, T Fletcher.
Bournemouth
Bournemouth XI:
Dorde Petrovic: Quiet game until called upon to turn away Mbeumo effort. 6
James Hill: Ambitious long ball to no-one, then crucial interception of Youri Tielemans' low cross before it reached Mbeumo. Solid when pressure mounted. 6
Adam Smith (off 87, Diakite): Man Utd didn't play with conventional wide player, but didn't get drawn out of position. Matched Diogo Dalot when he started running at him after half-time. 6
Antonio Silva: Cruised through the majority of the first half. Busier in the second but always had situation under control. 7
Adrien Truffert: Seized on Yoro error to create the visitors second. 7
Lewis Cook: Quietly effective. Read the game well and stepped in to make challenges and win the ball when required. 7
Tyler Adams: Booked for chopping down Tielemans and wrong side of Mbeumo when he went down but held sway in midfield duel. 7
Rayan: Found space around Dalot in the early stages but didn't make the most of it. Better delivery was nearly converted by Evanilson and superb first-time finish for opener. Should have had a second. 8
Marcus Tavernier (off 87, Adli): Got free on the left on a couple of occasions but couldn't pick out a team-mate with his cross. Easiest of finishes for Bournemouth's second. 8
Justin Kluivert (off, Gannon-Doak, 62): Brilliant free-kick to create the opener. Another eye-catching display. 7
Evanilson (off 87, Kroupi): Close to opener with attempted diving header and did have a goal ruled out for offside. Brilliant finish for the third. 8
Subs:
Ben Gannon-Doak (on 62, Kluivert): Settled in easily to game that was already set. 7
Ryan Christie (on 75, Cook): Easy game. 6
Junior Kroupi (on 86, Evanilson): 6
Bafode Diakite (on 86, Smith): 6
Amine Adli (on 87, Tavernier): 6
Subs not used: Di Gregorio, Soler, Brooks, Rodriguez.
