HARDROCK have strengthened their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title charge with a stunning late comeback, scoring three times to overturn a two-goal deficit and beat MWOS 3-2 at Chahwanda.

Munashe Bamara delivered the decisive blow in the 90th minute.

Munashe Bamara delivered the knockout punch in the 90th minute, capping a comeback that underlined Hardrock’s resilience at the business end of the season.

The result left coach Kelvin Kaindu encouraged by his team’s never-say-die spirit.

“If your team can get a last-minute goal from the most difficult matches, what more do you want?” Kaindu said.

“It was a good game, we could have won it and I do not remember us conceding 3 goals but credit to Hardrock,” MWOS FC Coach Lloyd Mutasa said.

MWOS looked firmly in control after Arthur Banda put them ahead in the ninth minute, before Nigel Makumbe doubled their advantage in the 59th.

But Hardrock hit back almost immediately, with Gerald Takwara pulling one back in the 62nd minute.

Thubelihle Mavuso then levelled matters in the 78th, setting the stage for Bamara’s dramatic late winner.

The victory strengthens Hardrock’s title credentials, with the leaders showing the fighting spirit needed to finish the campaign on top.

Hardrock remain top of the standings on 69 points from 32 matches, with two games left to play.

Second-placed Scottland are on 61 points, with games in hand, leaving the title race still alive.

Meanwhile, TelOne have been relegated after going down 3-2 to AGAMA, who are still battling for survival; Triangle left to fight another day after beating Simba Bhora two nil.

Relegated Manica Diamonds suffered a one-nil home defeat to Bulawayo Chiefs, who strengthened their survival bid while Hunters held Highlanders to a one-all draw.
