In a notice issued by the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation and shared with PREMIUM TIMES, the unveiling is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 4 November, at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hotels and Suites, Abuja.

The document, titled “Manifesto and Policy Document (2027–2031)”, will present an outline campaign’s policy direction and priorities ahead of the general election.

The unveiling will bring together political leaders, democracy advocates and other stakeholders from Nigeria and beyond.

“This noble event will bring together dignitaries from all over the world, political leaders in Nigeria, friends of democracy and other stakeholders for the formal presentation of the Manifesto and Policy Document,” the notice read.

The Reset Nigeria Agenda

According to Mr Makinde, the Reset Nigeria Agenda is built around four major pillars: resetting the economy, restructuring the country’s security architecture, reforming education and resetting the socio-political system.

The presidential hopeful had explained that the economic pillar will focus on building a productive economy, reduce the structural costs of living and doing business, improving infrastructure and creating opportunities for businesses and households.

On security, he advocated a reorganisation of the country’s security architecture, with emphasis on intelligence gathering, early warning, coordination among security agencies and community safety.

He also identified education reform as a priority, arguing that Nigeria must improve learning outcomes, address the challenge of out-of-school children and equip young people with relevant skills.

The fourth pillar, according to him, focuses on restructuring the country’s socio-political system, including strengthening institutions, improving governance and devolving more responsibilities to states within Nigeria’s federal structure.

Mr Makinde has said the agenda was informed by consultations with Nigerians through town hall meetings across the country’s six geopolitical zones.

Speaking at the APM’s final zonal town hall meeting in Enugu on 29 October, the candidate said the campaign had gathered concerns and expectations from citizens rather than developing policies without public input.

“We do not simply manufacture policies out of thin air. We listen to our people, hear what they want to see, and incorporate their expectations into our agenda,” he said.

He added that the manifesto would contain the issues raised during the consultations and the campaign’s proposed solutions to the country’s challenges.

The governor said he hoped to replicate at the national level what he described as his administration’s experience of rebuilding trust between the government and residents and people of Oyo State.
