The South African women’s rugby team has lost the small gains it made on the world rankings by suffering a second successive defeat to Ireland at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.

The visitors beat the Springbok Women 38-17 in their World Rugby W-Fifteen series match, after leading 14-10 at half time.

The Bok Women would’ve climbed to eighth on the world rankings with a first ever victory over the girls from the Emerald Isle.

Instead, they are back to 10th following the disappointing defeat.
