‘That’s hard to miss’ – Donald Trump compliments Nicki Minaj’s backside at Michigan rally

US President Donald Trump has once again made Nicki Minaj’s appearance a talking point, resorting to a lewd joke about the American rapper’s backside during a campaign rally in Michigan.

Mr Trump made the crude remark after travelling with the 43-year-old aboard Air Force One on Sunday to attend a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, as Republicans confront predictions of a possible Democratic wave in the midterm elections.

His latest comment follows two earlier occasions this year when he praised Minaj’s appearance. PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that Mr Trump had complimented her skin and long nails and described her as respected, sexy and “so hot”.

“I looked at one hell of a beautiful arse before, Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss,” Mr Trump said, asking the rapper to stand up in a video posted on Fox News’ Instagram page.

He later apologised for the inappropriate remark, saying he hoped he had not offended Minaj, whom he praised for supporting him for a long time.

Special person

Later that evening, Mr Trump praised Ms Minaj after she delivered a two-minute speech backing the Republicans.

He described the ‘Starships’ singer as a special human being and an intelligent woman.

“She never looked more beautiful, and she is a very special person. She gets it, smart,” Mr Trump added.

Minaj speaks

Speaking to the crowd, Minaj stood by her decision to support Mr Trump, crediting him with changing the country’s direction.

She argued that the president embodied resilience and had transformed the national mood, giving citizens fresh reasons to believe in the future.

“He represents resilience. So many people were maybe giving up a little bit, a little bit hopeless. And since he’s come back, he’s changed the energy of our country and he’s given us a future to look forward to, a brighter future for us and our children. So, let’s make some noise for this great man. I love him so much.

“We need this place to lead in the movement, right? And we’re not going to give up because we want our children to grow up in a place where we can be proud of… So, President Trump, it is an honour to stand with you every single time, and I will continue to support you forever.”

Minaj added that mothers in the country want their children to grow up in a place they can be proud of, rather than one where they are constantly bombarded with messages about sex changes.

“We want people to leave the children alone, leave them out of it.”

Minaj declared her unwavering support for Mr Trump, saying she considered it an honour to stand with him and would back him if he sought another term.

“I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again.”
