Three killed in Saturday night shooting in Gugulethu
Three people have been shot and killed in Gugulethu on the Cape Flats. Police say the incident occurred on Saturday night at the Kanana informal settlement.
Police spokesperson, André Traut says several occupants managed to flee during the attack and escaped unharmed. He says the motive for the killings is yet to be determined, although preliminary information suggests it may have been a targeted attack.
Traut says no arrests have been made.
“Two women aged 41 and 46 and a 20-year-old man were fatally wounded when armed suspects allegedly opened fire at a shack after waiting for the owner to return home. Detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit are pursuing all leads.
