Uncle Cedric vows to serve Ward 111 with integrity

CANDIDATE: Laguma is set to be councillor for ward 111.

Content creator and social media influencer known as “Uncle Cedric” has clinched the top seat in Ward 111 as ward councillor.

Laguma, who runs the Facebook page “Uncle Cedric’s House”, has over 59 000 followers and a large number of subscribers on YouTube. He has vowed to serve his community with integrity and honesty.

Laguma was selected as the DA’s ward candidate for Ward 111 and is known for his sharp criticism and no-nonsense attitude, often calling out politicians and content creators.

“Thank you for your support and believing in me,” he shared via his TikTok account hours after election day.

“I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who placed their trust into me and voted for the DA.

“I am going to bring the same values that I bring to my life, I am going to bring to this job.

“I say it is a job, because it is something that needs to be done.

“It is something that I will be compensated for, it is not foreign for me, being compensated for something and having to work for it.

“I told you, when the DA pays me and my first pay check comes, you will know.

“Up until today, I was not paid by any political party.

“I have used the time to get to know as many Patriotic Alliance members.”

He said he was keen to get to know the Patriotic Alliance (PA) members in the ward so that they could work together in the future to build their community.

“I will always attack where there is discrepancy, especially my opposition,” he stated.

“I want to say to the PA members in Scottsville, this is the ward councillor you can approach any time, we have one goal, the goal is to move Ward 111 forward.

“I am going to keep Ward 111 blue through the work I am going to do. Well done to the PA result, this is not a loss for you, you gained me, there is a new sheriff in town, I say this with humbleness.

“I am grateful for the opportunity and I will show it through my actions.”

Another influencer, FitnessMafiaCPT, said in response to his win: “Cedric Laguma, from this day forth, he is Uncle Councillor.”

Ek Bre Rugby Live said he was a role model for others: “We can say what we want to say about this man.

“Hopefully you will make a success of it. Any young man can look up to you.”

KatjieVanieBaan added: “Congratulations, from content creator to councillor.
