As Bafana Bafana prepare for a crucial clash against Czechia on Thursday, supporters across South Africa are rallying behind the national team in what could be a defining match in their World Cup campaign.
A victory would keep South Africa's hopes alive, while any other result would bring the campaign to an end.
The build-up to the match has been accompanied by growing fan activity around the country, with singer Chomee's song, Tjovitjo (Bafana Is Back), becoming a familiar soundtrack at fan parks, watch parties and across social media since the tournament began.
Chomee, whose real name is Thulisile Madihlaba, said the song's popularity reflects the unifying power of football.
"There's something special about the way soccer brings people together. I'm so excited to be part of the campaign and bring people together," said Chomee.
"It doesn't matter where you're from or who you support, when the game kicks off, everyone shares in the excitement. And right now, with everything on the line for Bafana, that feeling is everything."
The Soweto-born artist headlined a fan park event at Mall of Africa during South Africa's opening match and is scheduled to perform at a watch party in Johannesburg should Bafana progress to the quarter-finals on July 9.
Tjovitjo (Bafana Is Back) has quickly become associated with the national team's tournament run, with supporters embracing the song as an expression of optimism and national pride.
Chomee has also appeared at fan events supported by Debonairs Pizza as supporters gather to watch Bafana's matches.
As anticipation builds ahead of Thursday's fixture, attention remains firmly on the players and whether Bafana can take another step forward in the competition.
For many supporters, however, the tournament has already highlighted football's unique ability to unite communities, with fan parks, public screenings and music helping to create a shared national experience around the team's campaign.
