Jack Draper Reaches Eastbourne Quarter-Finals Following Injury Struggles

Jack Draper has secured a place in the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne tournament, continuing his return to competitive tennis. The 24-year-old achieved the milestone by defeating his friend and fellow Briton, Jack Pinnington Jones, with a score of 7-5 6-4.
The victory marks a significant step in Draper's recovery process. He admitted that his confidence had dropped "below the floor" a few weeks prior, citing a lack of match fitness that had previously prevented him from competing at Queen's.
Draper's recent absence was caused by a knee injury sustained during the Barcelona Open in April, which sidelined him for over two months. This was the latest in a series of physical setbacks over the past year, including issues with his shoulder and arm, which limited him to just 13 matches during that period.
During the match against Pinnington Jones, Draper maintained control despite a brief lapse in the first set where he missed a set point at 5-4. He eventually secured the opener with two consecutive aces and carried that momentum into the second set, where he did not face a single break point before winning.
Following the match, Draper praised Pinnington Jones, noting that the 23-year-old is a talented player who recently transitioned from college and is climbing the rankings. Draper expressed his belief that Pinnington Jones will become a top-tier player.
Draper's progress at the tournament has been supported by his new coach, Sir Andy Murray. The partnership has seen Draper win two matches on the south coast, including an opening round victory over Marcos Giron.
In the next round, the former world number four is scheduled to face Gabriel Diallo of Canada in the last eight. Draper's successful run in Eastbourne serves as preparation ahead of the upcoming Championships, Wimbledon.
